About 60 people gathered for the Cardiac Rehab Reunion to celebrate life after recovering from a heart event. Bernadette Dempsey, the cardiac rehab nurse coordinator for Maine Coast Memorial Hospital’s Cardiac Rehab Program, said the reunion is an occasion for “a very special group of people to have a good time together.” “When her patients arrive at the Cardiac Rehab room, they feel that "Life as I knew it was over.” “Bernadette has other ideas,” said one of her patients. “With her assistance and friendship, she showed me that you can go back.” The goal is that rehabbers shake the inevitable depression that follows “close encounters with the reaper.” Visit our Cardiac Rehab Department
